From the JournalParfums de Marly Pegasus Review: Is the Almond-Vanilla Hype Real? →
Pegasus goes back further than most Parfums de Marly names — not just to Greek mythology, but to an actual 18th-century racehorse whose winning line produced generations of champions afterward, which made the name doubly fitting for a house built on horse pedigree. Created by Hamid Merati-Kashani in 2011, it opens with an unusual pairing of bitter almond and cumin against bergamot, before settling into amber, vanilla, and sandalwood — warm and a little spiced, closer to the original run of Parfums de Marly releases than the sweeter, more crowd-pleasing scents that came after it.
