Le Gemme Orom

Bvlgari built the Le Gemme collection on a strange premise for a fragrance house: treat scent like high jewelry. Each release traces a historic "gem route," the old trade paths that once carried precious stones across continents, and gives that stone a scent instead of a setting. Orom is built around labradorite, a stone found in Madagascar that looks almost dull in flat light and then, tilted, flashes color like it's holding the aurora borealis inside it. The name itself comes from the Malagasy word for peacock — a bird whose whole reputation rests on the same trick, plainness that turns dazzling the moment it moves. Perfumer Sophie Labbé built the fragrance around that same idea of hidden depth revealing itself.
